Tyson Jackson Named To C-USA All Freshman Team

AX2024 would like to acknowledge fellow Atlanta Xpress family and Middle Tennessee State star, Tyson Jackson, for earning Conference USA All-Freshman Team honors.

On Monday, March 9 Conference USA announced its 2020 All-Conference, All-Defensive and All-Freshman Teams with Tyson Jackson representing the Blue Raiders on the All-Freshman Team. According to the MTSU website, Jackson is just the third Blue Raider in recent years to receive the honor.

Jackson's first campaign in Murfreesboro saw him earn 22 starts and play in all 31 contests for the Blue Raiders, averaging 5.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in just over 20 minutes per outing while also serving as MT's first sub in five of his nine appearances off the bench.

His team-leading 21 blocks make him the first Blue Raider freshman to lead the team in blocks since Alex Weekes (25) did so in 2004. He is also the first Blue Raider rookie to register 20-plus blocks since 2014 Conference USA Player of the Year Shawn Jones swatted 20 shots as a freshman in 2011.
