AX2024 Kicks Off UA Future

The southeast region of the 2019 UA Future circuit is now underway. Session I, which took place May 11-12 at LakePoint Champions Center in Emerson, GA just outside of Atlanta, saw a host of elite middle school teams in action.

Atlanta Xpress 2024 boys went into UA Future Southeast, Session 1 ready to take on the challenges that would face them throughout the weekend-long event. With key big man David Clark (broken thumb) and valuable reserve power forward Josh Langefels (ankle sprain) out of the lineup, the team got off to a sluggish start and struggled to protect the paint against several very big teams. Despite going 0-4 in their circuit debut, the team learned the value of fighting hard, and ended their weekend on a 5-point loss in the final seconds of their last game.  The key lessons our AX2024 team took away from the weekend was that anyone can be beaten if they do not come ready to compete at their best; and that it requires teamwork and discipline to win elite level basketball games.

With only one session (four games) remaining in the southeast region of the circuit, before heading to Kansas City (MO) for the UA Future National Championships, AX2024 realizes that the road to the top half of their region is still possible, but has become tougher.

Still on a mission to pick up their first win of the circuit, and improve their overall UA Future record, AX2024 is looking forward to having their key bigs back in the lineup to help them #UnleashChaos in Hoover, AL for Session 2 on June 1-2.
